Dialogue, be it with employees, shareholders, customers, consumers,
associations, scientists, authorities or the public, is a matter of course for us,
and forms the basis of sustainable, future-proof economic management.
Our Tetra scientists and experts are happy to pass on their specialist
knowledge. It is important to us that our knowledge and experience reaches
all those whose professions or hobbies involve fish, plants, water and, in future,
also dogs, regardless of whether they are our trading partners or consumers.
As part of our range of services, we naturally offer specialist trade training
programmes to the retail market: training programmes covering all areas
for beginners, intermediates and experts. When planning advanced training
programmes, short journeys also play a role. Most meetings are held in centres
such as Berlin, Hamburg or Munich, which are easily accessible by train,
too. Other specialist lectures and training programmes are held for various
audiences, such as veterinary surgeons, animal welfare symposia or within
the scope of EAFP events, in order to pass on our knowledge on fish diseases,
fishkeeping, care and breeding. By specifically approaching associations and
educational establishments, the Tetra experts’ knowledge is incorporated
into the respective associations’ educational work. For instance, we are
actively involved in drawing up educational materials for the Industrieverband
Heimtierbedarf (IVH) and the Zentralverband Zoologischer Fachbetriebe (ZZF).
We also supported the establishment of the course “Proof of competence in
keeping ornamental fish” by LAVES Niedersachsen.
Our AquaPhone, the Tetra telephone hotline, is available to enable our trade
partners and consumers alike to ask any questions they may have concerning
aquariums, garden ponds and reptiles. Individual answers are provided by our
Tetra experts.
Products and services must benefit consumers through benefiting their pets.
Which is why Tetra has made it its business to inform aquarium and garden
pond owners properly about all aspects of caring for their pets. In doing this,
we increasingly use the internet: our customers can obtain expert advice
in our Question Forums, and the “MyExpert” newsletter reminds registered
users to carry out the necessary tasks to keep their aquariums or garden
ponds healthy. In order to save material and unnecessary mailing costs, our
13 pamphlets and brochures, also available in printed form at specialist shops,
can be downloaded from the internet. All AquaArt aquariums come with a DVD
containing films and animations as a detailed guide to setting up and caring for
an aquarium (available in 17 different languages). This saves huge amounts of
paper and reduces transport costs. |

dialogue
Solveig Rasch, Project Manager in Strategic Marketing/Sustainable Development
Quality of life is important to all of us. Which is why more and
more people concern themselves with sustainable development.
One of our main objectives is to act in a responsible manner to
safeguard the future of humans, animals and nature. Environmental
protection, social responsibility and economic success are the
prerequisites for sustainability. We are committed to finding the
right balance between these three dimensions.
Society’s need for information demands more from companies
than the simple communication of a product’s advantages. This
is why we are consciously open to dialogue and why we explain
how we fulfil our many responsibilities. We know we act in an
exemplary manner in many areas. However, we also know that
there is still room for improvement in many others. And this is the
goal we are working towards. Both today and tomorrow.
